Starting January 1, 2025, Germany will introduce new labeling requirements for parcels with increased weight, according to § 73 PostG. This applies to all international shipments to Germany and domestic shipments within Germany. Cargoson TMS has already integrated the functionality to meet these regulations across all supported countries, making compliance straightforward for our users.

What Are the Germany new labeling Requirements?

Shipments falling into the following weight categories must be labeled:

  • 10–20 kg
  • Over 20 kg
Additionally, new handling regulations for parcels exceeding 20 kg will be introduced soon. Transport service providers operating in Germany are responsible for ensuring these labels are applied correctly.

How Cargoson Makes Compliance Easy

While the new regulation doesn’t impose any obligations on consignors, providing accurate package weights during shipment registration simplifies the process. In Cargoson TMS, you can easily:

  • Add actual package weights to ensure seamless shipment processing.
  • Automatically apply the correct weight labels to shipments.
Our system takes care of the labeling, so carriers can focus on compliance and safety.

Why Accurate Weight Matters

Accurate weight data ensures shipments are labeled correctly, contributing to safer working conditions for delivery staff. By adopting this process, businesses can help reduce workplace injuries while meeting regulatory requirements without hassle.
